DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAYDaytona International Speedway is a state-of-the-art motorsports facility and was awarded the SportsBusiness Journal's prestigious Sports Business Award for Sports Facility of the Year in 2016. Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race" – the DAYTONA 500. Though the prestigious season-opening NASCAR Cup Series event garners most of the attention – as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the approximately 500-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." Among the nine major weekends of racing activity are the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA, the DAYTONA Supercross, the DAYTONA 200 motorcycle classic and the Coke Zero Sugar 400. Rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include track tours, concerts, civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo shoots, production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide visible security presence to guests and employeesLocking/unlocking doors and gates at appropriate timesScreen all persons entering ticketed and/or secure areas for valid credentials/ticketsHelp keep DIS guests and property safe and secureAssist guests with questions regarding directions, information about the facility, parking, and disabled assistanceReport emergencies in accordance with DIS Security policy and proceduresRespond to requests for helpEnforce speedway policies and proceduresVarious additional tasks as assignedIn the performance of their respective tasks and duties, all staff are expected to exhibit the following:Provide excellent customer service and care to internal and external customers.Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and vendors.Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.QualificationsMinimum 18 years of age.High School Diploma or equivalent.Highly self-motivated with a desire to be successful.Excellent verbal communication skills.Computer knowledge/access (for training and scheduling).Neat and clean appearance.Customer service experience.Positive attitude, great work ethic, and ability to work well within a team environment.Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and holidays.Ability to stand for long periods of time in excess of 8 hours at a time.Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.Ability to lift/move equipment in excess of 25 lbs.Valid Driver's License.Reliable transportation to and from the track location.Additional Qualifications (preferred)Current Florida Class "D" Security LicensePrior security, law enforcement, and/or corrections officer experienceAdditional InformationThese are event-based positions.
